The ballet "Swan Lake" illustrates the ancient legend of the girls turned into swans by the spell of the wizard Rothbart. The appearance of the dreamy Prince Siegfried in this trembling world breaks the usual course of events. The oath of eternal love that he makes to the Swan Queen Odette gives them hope for salvation and liberation from the spell. Wanting to prevent the prince from fulfilling his promise, Rothbart prepares a fatal test for him. Odette's place in his heart must be taken by her double - the demonic beauty Odile.

The mystical metamorphoses of the plot are illustrated by the brilliant music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, which has made the hearts of spectators beat excitedly for over a hundred years. In the production of "Swan Lake" by the Saint-Michel Ballet Theatre, the score includes musical numbers lost in the editions of the last century. Their return to the performance makes the choreographic interpretation of the ancient legend more voluminous and precise. Based on the figurative solutions of the first production of the Mariinsky Theatre (1895), the performance recreates its simple atmosphere, shading the dramatic conflict of dream and reality.

The originality of the performance is emphasized by the design and costumes of Varvara Yevchuk, who endows them with a recognizable, eye-catching style. Refinement and simplicity are combined in light empire silhouettes, making the characters' plasticity more free and graceful. The variety of choreographic tasks in the performance comprehensively reveals the troupe's potential, opening up space for virtuosity, acting and plastic perfection.
