Ballet "The Nutcracker" to the music of P.I. Tchaikovsky

Starring - Farukh Ruzimatov

Author's version by N. N. Androsov

P.I. Tchaikovsky’s ballet “The Nutcracker” has deservedly enjoyed the love of audiences of all ages and all continents for more than 120 years. Since its first performance at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg on December 18, 1892, the ballet has undergone thousands of performances and interpretations on the stages of the most prestigious theaters in the world, performed by the most famous stars of the world theater.

The plot is based on the New Year's fairy tale by the outstanding writer, artist and composer of the 19th century Ernst Theodor Hoffmann - “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King”. The brilliant music of P.I. Tchaikovsky, ideally created for a ballet action, according to the mystical fantasies of E.T. Hoffmann, from the real world, in which the girl Marie and her brother Fritz, together with their parents and guests, participate in the celebration of Christmas, decorate the Christmas tree and receive gifts , takes you to a fairy-tale world where Marie and her faithful dolls fight against hordes of mice, saving her from death in an unequal battle with the King of Mouse and his army, the Nutcracker, who bravely defended her - a clumsy doll given to her by advisor Drosselmeyer. Marie's love performs a miracle - the Nutcracker turns from a doll into a handsome Prince and takes Marie to a fairy-tale magical land, where there is no war, no fear and hatred, where the Prince invites her to become the princess of Confiturenburg.

For the 100th anniversary of the outstanding teacher and choreographer, one of the best students of the legendary A.Ya. Vaganova Irina Aleksandrovna Safonova, the Classical Ballet Theater prepared its own version of the famous ballet.

The basis of the production was the choreography of I.A. Safonova. However, the role of Drosselmeyer now sounds completely new, due to the fact that it is performed by an outstanding artist, world ballet star, People's Artist of Russia Farukh Ruzimatov. In his special interpretation, you can guess E.T. Hoffmann himself, telling his best fairy tale from the author, especially since several fragments of the new ballet are performed to the music of E.T. Hoffmann himself, without interfering, but revealing in P.I. Tchaikovsky’s ballet another interesting new original page.

The performance will be attended by Farukh Ruzimatov, guest soloists of the St. Petersburg ballet, the classical ballet theater and the symphony orchestra. Conductor Maxim Alekseev.

Especially for the new version of the ballet "The Nutcracker", People's Artist of Russia Ivan Glazunov and Olga Glazunova created Drosselmeyer's costume.
